Photography by Yukiko Northon

The photographs you see here have never been digitally enhanced or edited because I want the viewer to see how I see the natural beauty of Hawai’i.

My passion began with a Canon Rangefinder, but now I use a digital SLR. I found that photography, with all of its different formats, and diverse range of imaging, was an incredible form to present my view of the world around me- my camera acting as an extension of myself. My work is a culmination of years behind a camera as a hobby photographer. Since moving to the Big Island, I have been privileged to expand my work to Hawai'i and it's wildly variant beauty as a powerful, growing, "lava breathing" island of spiritual life.

I have three separate galleries; one gallery celebrates my Japanese heritage, the other reveres the island which I now call home, the last is from a recent trip to Kaua’i.
